Meet the Leaders

Brandon's personal goal is to proclaim the implications that 1 resurrection has on the rest of our lives. If the Gospel accounts are true, then everything we believe about the world has to change!

After growing up in Goshen, IN, Brandon married Stephanie in 2011 and together they have three girls, Luella, Frances, and Isabelle. He has a music degree from Ball State and an M.Div from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He brings experience from college ministry, worship leadership, and a church planting residency to bear in Bloomington.

God gave Brandon a whole lot of interests in things outside of ministry, including playing viola for the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, tinkering with a 3D printer, and riding bikes.

Recently, Brandon launched SingZion.com, a platform for Christian musicians to discover new musical settings of the Psalms to implement in all types of worship environments.

I'm originally from northwest Indiana (Gary / Hammond) but lived most of my adult life in the Bloomington area.  I'm now a retired high school teacher who had a number of careers (finance and computing, mostly) prior to becoming a teacher in midlife.  Married to Jane (38 years), and have two sons, two daughters-in-law and a granddaughter, all of whom live in Bloomington and central Indiana.

I have a number of interests outside of work as Office Administrator at King’s Cross which include studying Scripture, rock climbing (I spent five years as a rock climbing guide) and all things outdoors, reading, playing chess and physical fitness.  I'm an avid fan of Chicago sports teams (particularly the Cubs and Bears) as well as all manifestations of football (American), golf, and sports in general.

I'm Arika, the King's Cross Children's Coordinator. I have been walking with the Lord since 2008 when Christ changed my heart in college. After marrying my husband, Derrick, in 2014, we moved to Bloomington in 2018, shortly after having our first baby. I work as a pediatric nurse a few days a week in an outpatient primary care office. When I am not working or serving at church, you'll usually find me running, listening to an audiobook, spending time with my husband and three kids, or enjoying time with friends and family.

I love working with children and helping create a place where they feel welcomed, loved, and excited to learn about Jesus. As a mom myself, I know how meaningful it is for families to have a church community where their children can grow in faith, build friendships, and feel like they belong. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve our church and invest in the next generation!

Hello! I’ve lived in Bloomington for almost nine years now after coming to IU as a freshman in 2018 and I have been grateful for each one of them. IU is where I met my wife, Elizabeth, who currently works as an English teacher at a local high school. After working for several years serving our community’s homeless population at Wheeler Mission, I am currently a full time student at Covenant Theological Seminary.

I am also presently serving as the Pastoral Resident here at King’s Cross as I work towards my graduation. My hobbies include biking around town, playing chess, and cheering on our Indiana Hoosiers.

Andrew Whitaker ministers to college students through RUF, which aims to connect students to Jesus on campus. He is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and is married to Christianna and father to 3 little ones, Vivian, Charlie, and Elaina. The Whitaker's journey has taken them to Chicago, St. Louis, Wisconsin and South Carolina.

Andrew and Christianna met while students at Moody Bible Institute where Andrew studied piano performance, were married in 2010 and then headed off to Covenant Seminary where Andrew completed his Master’s of Divinity. Andrew was ordained as a Gospel minister in the PCA in 2016 and has served as an Assistant pastor at two churches.

The Whitakers enjoy the outdoors, catching up over a good meal, impromptu jam sessions, and adventuring in their pop-up camper affectionally named “Tiny Tim.”
